Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: November 2026
Business Name: Desert Quilting Company
Location: Peoria, Arizona
1. Agreement Overview
By submitting a quilt top, backing, or other materials to [Your Business Name] (the “Company”), the customer (“Client”) agrees to the terms outlined below.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all quilting services, purchases, and transactions conducted through our website, by mail, or in person at our Arizona studio.
2. Description of Services
The Company provides long-arm quilting services, including edge-to-edge quilting, custom quilting, binding, batting sales, and related finishing services.
Each quilt is treated with care and attention using professional long-arm quilting equipment. However, due to the nature of textile work, minor imperfections or variances may occur and are considered part of the handmade process.
3. Quilt Preparation Requirements
Before submitting a quilt for service, the Client must ensure that:
-
The quilt top and backing are pressed, square, and free of pins, embellishments, and loose threads.
-
The backing is at least 4 inches larger on all sides than the quilt top.
-
Batting is of quilting quality and correctly sized.
If additional preparation (pressing, trimming, seam repair, etc.) is required, the Company may charge a prep fee of $[Insert Amount] per hour, billed separately.
4. Turnaround Time
Estimated turnaround is 3–6 weeks from receipt of the quilt, depending on design complexity and current workload.
Rush orders may be accepted for an additional fee and are subject to availability.
Completion dates are estimates and not guaranteed.
5. Payment Terms
A 50% deposit may be required at the time of order. The remaining balance is due prior to pickup or shipment.
Accepted payment methods include credit/debit card, cash, check, or approved electronic payment (e.g., PayPal, Venmo).
Quilts will not be released until full payment has been received.
Returned checks or payment disputes may incur a $35 service fee and may delay the release of your quilt.
6. Shipping and Delivery
Clients are responsible for shipping quilts to and from our studio.
We recommend using a trackable and insured carrier (such as USPS Priority Mail, UPS, or FedEx).
The Company is not responsible for quilts lost, delayed, or damaged in transit.
Return shipping includes tracking and standard insurance; additional insurance can be purchased upon request.
7. Damage or Loss Liability
While every quilt is handled with care, the Company’s liability is limited to the cost of quilting services only.
The Company is not responsible for:
-
Fabric flaws, dye bleeding, shrinkage, or thread breakage.
-
Damage caused by poor construction or materials provided by the Client.
-
Loss or damage caused by shipping carriers or unforeseen events (fire, theft, flood, etc.).
Clients are encouraged to photograph their quilts prior to shipping and retain proof of value.
8. Design Approval & Thread Choice
Designs, thread colors, and quilting patterns should be approved in writing prior to service.
If no preference is indicated, the Company will use its professional judgment to select a design and thread color that best complements the quilt.
Once quilting has begun, changes cannot be made.
9. Satisfaction and Refund Policy
Because quilting is a custom service, all sales are final.
If you are dissatisfied with workmanship, please contact the Company within 7 days of receipt to discuss possible remedies.
Refunds or re-quilting may be considered at the sole discretion of the Company.
10. Photography and Promotion
The Company may photograph quilts for marketing or educational purposes, including website, print, and social media use.
No personal or identifying customer information will be shared.
If you prefer not to have your quilt photographed, please indicate this in writing on your order form.
11. Abandoned Quilts
Quilts not picked up or paid for within 90 days of completion will be considered abandoned property.
After this period, the Company reserves the right to sell or donate the quilt to recover unpaid costs in accordance with Arizona law (A.R.S. § 47-7209).
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Arizona.
Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of [Your County], Arizona.
