Rates
Square Inch Price
We charge 2.5 cents per square inch for all edge-to-edge designs.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .025 = $120.
Our minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum. ​
Feeling a little bit extra? We love to do custom computerized quilting. Use the Book a Quilt button to tell me about your quilty aspirations, and we'll work together on a design and a quote. Custom work typically ranges from 4.5 to 8.5 cents per square inch.

What type of Payments does Desert Quilting Company services Offer?
We try to keep things simple and flexible! Desert Quilting Company accepts cash, credit/debit cards, and popular digital payment options like Zelle and Venmo. If you have a specific preference, feel free to ask—we’re happy to work with you.

Why is there a need for 4-5 inches extra fabric for the back-up
Great question! We need about 4–5 extra inches on each side of your backing so it can be attached to the longarm machine. This extra fabric keeps everything tight and smooth while quilting, helping us deliver the best possible results.

What should the customer know about pricing ( e.g, discounts, fees)?
For long arm quilting services - beginning at $.02 / inch for edge to edge designs. price / inch increases due to level of customized quilting chosen. For custom quilt creation, pricing is based upon the size of the requested quilt. Price will be all inclusive, you will receive a completely finished quilt with no hidden charges or fees. I sell batting at $12 / yard I will provide binding and trimming services for an extra charge. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A hand made quilt is a wondrous thing. I will talk with you and together we will arrive at a mutually agreed upon design. The quote you receive from me will be based upon that agreement, and is open to adjustments should you decide to either increase or decrease the amount of customization in your project. Thread choices, pattern design, etc. are your choice. I will provide advice and help you with your decisions. In the end the final product will be yours, I want you to be happy with it.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our quilting background comes from years of hands-on experience, along with dedicated training in longarm quilting techniques and machine use. We are always learning and improving through workshops and industry resources so we can provide the best possible care and detail for every quilt that comes through my studio.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Like many quilters, it all started as a hobby. We loved the creative process and the meaning behind each quilt. As we made more quilts, I became especially interested in the quilting process itself and eventually transitioned into longarm quilting. What started as something we loved doing has grown into a business where we get to help others finish their quilts beautifully.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
One recent project that stands out was a custom quilt made as a gift for a family member. It had a lot of meaning behind it, and we worked closely on selecting a quilting pattern that complemented the design without taking away from the story of the quilt. From start to finish, the quilting process took about a few days, including setup, stitching, and final inspection. It’s always rewarding to help bring something so personal to completion.

Our clients include hobby quilters, individuals creating meaningful gifts, and those working on heirloom-quality pieces. Every project is unique, and we’re committed to providing the same level of care and attention to each one.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It’s important to find someone you feel comfortable working with. Take a look at their previous work, ask questions about their process, and make sure they’re clear about pricing and timelines. Most importantly, choose someone who values your quilt as much as you do—every project has a story behind it!

A few things to consider ahead of time: What size is your quilt? Do you have a quilting style or pattern in mind? When do you need it completed? And is your quilt top and backing ready to go? Don’t worry if you’re unsure on anything—we’re happy to help walk you through it!
